I've set a polished abalone shell 'eye' in hand fabricated sterling silver, with five dangles of African turquoise, Nevada turquoise and blue apatite.
The abalone cabochon is perfectly cut and polished to reveal the 'eye', and the gemmy dangles add kinetic interest. My inspiration comes from the Eye of Horus, the Greek (or Evil) Eye and possibly the protective eyes of a mother, as this symbol is a protective talisman in many cultures.
The pendant is approximately 1.75 inches wide, and 1.75 inches long, including the bail.
Suspends from an 18 inch, sterling silver, snake chain, with a lobster clasp. There is also a turquoise accent at the clasp.
Entirely hand fabricated by me in my home studio, of sterling silver and fine silver.
